We asked Manny some daft questions...

Please explain yourself.
I’m me, and I am short dark and extremely handsome, and I have spent the best part of my life reading, handling and pushing comic books.

Describe your business.
Paper Periodicals produced for fun and profit.

What is your favourite record at the moment?
Just Brought Kitty Daisy & Lewis on an absolute whim. I know nothing about this record or its creators; I just know that I like it. Before that it was The Hives ‘Black & White’.

What are your plans for the rest of 2008?
That’s a secret!

Which musicians / pop stars should be locked in a dungeon and why?
The Beatles, because they are the biggest bunch of phoneys ever - mind you, two down two to go. I want to shoot Paul McCartney, and if I am told that I have only months to live he is second on my list.

Batman or Superman?
Batman. Because he’s bastard.

When was the last time you embarrassed yourself?
Probably the last time I opened my mouth, but before that, when I told a nurse that I thought she was beautiful and then thought, “I didn’t just say that out load did I?”

What was the last dream you remember having?
Strangely enough it had something to do with corridors, and exploring a larger than life building with many hidden passages.

Favourite comic at the moment?
Greatest Hits

What is Canterbury missing?
A KFC

Is it true that chickens can't drown?
Don’t ask me, I only eat them; I don’t go swimming with them

What is your favourite film?
Tough one this, but after much thought Blade Runner wins the Sci-Fi Category and Apocalypse Now wins the War film Category.

Tell us a joke.
What do you do if a bird shits on your car?
Don’t date her again.

What was the last thing that made you angry?
My wife (unfortunately)

Worst comic book movie adaptation?
Oh, Catwoman, no League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, NO Catwoman, no League of Extraordinary Gentlemen NO Catwoman, no League of Extraordinary Gentlemen NO Catwoman, no League of Extraordinary Gentlemen …

Crisps or chocolate? Why?
A crisp of course. Chocolate is for Girls.

Do you have a favourite place in Canterbury?
Yes, Whatever Comics. Sorry but it is.

Who would win in a fight between astronauts and cavemen and why?
Cavemen, because I don’t think modern man could match the intellect and savagery of the caveman, besides take the suit off and what do you have? A soft pink pansy.

Favourite saying?
“Thank You”

Is the truth really out there?
No, it’s already here.

Is there anything you'd like to shamelessly promote while you're here?
Yes. Whatever Comics is having a signing on the 18th of October - be there or be square…

What is the meaning of life?
A circle.

Thank you for your time.
Thank you for reading.
